Grounded Living

About

We're a young couple figuring out healthy the slow way.

Hi — we're Maddie and Aaron. We started Grounded Living because we kept hitting the same wall everyone else does: wellness advice that's either fearmongering, trying to sell you a $90 powder, or so polished it clearly came from someone who's never had a bad week. We're not that. We're two people in our early twenties, expecting our first baby, writing down what actually works as we learn it.

We come at this from opposite directions, which is kind of the point. Maddieis the crunchy one — herbal teas, low-tox swaps, open windows, and now navigating a first pregnancy and what's actually safe versus just trendy. Aaronis the skeptic — he's lived with diabetes since he was a teenager, so he learned early that food and sleep aren't vibes, they're numbers on a meter the next morning. One of us brings home the remedy; the other asks for the evidence. You get both.

What we're about

Everything here gets the same test: would we actually do this, and is there decent evidence it helps? We read the studies. We try the products with our own money before we recommend them. When something's a waste of cash, we say so — even the popular stuff.

One thing we'll always be straight about: we're not doctors. We share what we've learned and lived, but for anything serious — pregnancy, diabetes, a symptom that won't quit — please talk to a real medical professional. Tea is great. It's not a substitute for care.

We keep the lights on through affiliate links and ads, which means we only ever make money if you trust what we say. That keeps us honest. You can read exactly how that works on our affiliate disclosure page.

Maddie

Co-founder · Natural living & motherhood · Writing through her first pregnancy

Maddie is the crunchy half of Grounded Living — the one who reaches for the herbal tea, the cast-iron pan, and the open window before anything else. She's 20, pregnant with her first baby, and figuring out a low-tox, low-stress home in real time. She writes about the slow stuff: sleep, calm, natural remedies, and what actually holds up once a real life (and a growing belly) is in the picture. Not a doctor — just honest about what she's tried.

Aaron

Co-founder · Nutrition & the research · Manages diabetes daily · reads the research

Aaron is the skeptic. Living with diabetes since he was a teenager, he learned the hard way that what you eat and how you sleep aren't optional — they show up on a glucose meter the next morning. He reads the studies, runs the numbers, and is happy to tell you when a trendy supplement is a waste of money. If Maddie brings home a new remedy, he's the one asking for the evidence.
