Rest. Rest. Rest.

The most underrated, misunderstood thing out there. Your body needs all the energy it has to fight off infection. Rest helps your body heal faster by freeing up resources that your immune system needs to make white blood cels, antibodies and repair tissues.

Lots of activity raises your cortisol and adrenaline levels, rest lowers them which then helps your immune system focus on healing. Sleep will also help your body heal faster, studies show that people who get adequate rest recover much faster from colds, flus and over infections. They also often avoid getting sicker and are less likely to spread illness.

Rest looks different for everyone. Sometimes your body needs full bed rest, sometimes you just need to slow down your life and take it easier. Reading how much rest your body needs it so important, the body was designed to tell you these things so listening to it is crucial for recovery.

Don’t just drink water!

Staying hydrated is one of the simplest but most powerful things you can do when you’re under the weather. Water is essential, yes — it keeps your body functioning and helps flush out what you don’t need. But don’t stop there. Focus on warm, nourishing liquids that bring both comfort and healing.

Rich bone broths are full of minerals, electrolytes, and collagen that support your immune system and give your body fuel to recover. Pair that with herbal teas, which not only soothe sore throats and ease congestion, but also deliver antioxidants and plant compounds that fight inflammation and support the healing process.

These warm, hydrating drinks don’t just feel good — they actively help your body mend. Think of them as both comfort and medicine, wrapping your system in what it needs most while you rest and heal.

Some great things to drink are…

  • Peppermint tea: opens airways and helps breathing.

  • Chamomile tea: great for soothing the throat and helps relax the body

  • Chicken or beef bone broths: full of collagen and electrolytes, helping your body heal faster.

  • Warm water with honey and lemon: moisturizes throat and calms cough.
